homemade baby wipes

My friend and co-worker Dawn recently gave me a recipe for homemade baby wipes. This is the original recipe:

Circular Rubbermaid container
Bounty Paper Towel--I love the "select a size" and it must be the 2 pack
1 tablespoon baby oil
2 tablespoons baby wash
2 cups plus 1 tablespoon hot water

Cut one roll of paper towel horizontally with a knife. Slightly mix the baby oil and baby wash and water in the container. Place one halved roll into the container and let the mixture soak up the paper towel a little bit. Cover and tip upside down.

I changed the recipe a bit based on what I had in the house. This is my take on it:

Container (was going to use the cottage cheese container, but ended up using a glass pickle jar instead)
1/2 package cotton squares
1/2 tblsp jojoba oil
1 tblsp Dr. Bronners Baby Mild Castile Soap (buy bulk at the Seward for best price)
1 cups hot water
1 drop lavender essential oil

This is the finished product:

Not super pretty, but functional. I tried them out on a particularly nasty newborn poopy (I won't post any pictures of that) and they worked very nicely.

I'll  update in a week or so about how they hold up over some time.

**Three days later: Still liking the wipes! One tip: every morning I run a little fresh water over them to re-hydrate.
